SunPower, a leader in residential solar technology, has recently signed deals with four major home builders – Beazer Homes, CC Homes, Meritage Homes, and Toll Brothers – to create nearly 1,000 solar homes communities across the United States. This collaboration marks a significant shift in new home construction, prioritizing sustainable and affordable energy solutions in the solar home market. By pre-installing SunPower Equinox® solar systems in select communities, these partnerships make it easier for homeowners to embrace clean energy, addressing both economic and environmental concerns.

Expanding beyond California, Meritage Homes has partnered with SunPower to include solar as a standard feature in their new developments in Colorado. This expansion signifies the growing importance of solar homes solutions in the U.S. housing market. Similarly, luxury home builder Toll Brothers has broadened its agreement with SunPower to incorporate solar technology in all its new homes across California, Nevada, New York, and Massachusetts, offering homeowners in these states the opportunity to enjoy renewable and reliable power built into their new homes.

Beazer Homes is set to integrate SunPower solar systems in 125 homes across Maryland and Delaware, including developments like Chase Oaks and Holly Farms. This initiative aligns with Beazer Homes’ commitment to the DOE Zero Energy Ready Home program, aiming for net-zero energy usage in all their homes by 2025. CC Homes, one of Florida’s largest private builders, is also contributing to the solar home trend by offering SunPower’s solar systems in its communities, planning to retrofit hundreds of households and incorporate solar in future builds.

These partnerships between SunPower and the homebuilders reflect a significant shift in the residential construction industry, emphasizing the importance of energy efficiency and sustainability in new home designs. With record sales in its New Homes business and an industry-leading 25-year warranty on its products, SunPower is changing how homes are powered, making solar energy a standard feature in modern homebuilding. This trend not only supports homeowners in their pursuit of energy independence and cost savings but also contributes positively to addressing climate change challenges. Solar homes are the homes of the future.
